DMC Honours List 2025: two awards every year to recognize commendable dullsters

The two awards are the Anorak of the Year in the UK and DMC Person of the Year for the rest of the world.

DMC 2025 Honours List:

• Person of the Year: Johnnie Meier for his Classical Gas Station Museum in New Mexico

• Anorak of the Year: St.John Burkett for organizing the World Conker Championships every year in Northamptonshire

Inspired by TIME magazine’s Person of the Year, we have a DMC Person of the Year award. When membership began to grow in the UK where dullsters are referred to as anoraks, we started a separate award for the UK: the Anorak of the Year award.

“Double our pleasure, double our fun, let’s have two awards instead of just one.” (Paraphrasing Wrigley’s ads for its Doublemint chewing gum.)

Our Honours Lists, in keeping with our nature, are humble. Two awards. Compre this to the Honours Lists of King Charles, which have about 90 awards of knighthoods and Damehoods and many more for CBEs, OBEs, MBEs, etc., a total of about 2,000.
