As I mentioned in my tweet, the Libyan flag deserves appreciation for the economy of imagination that was infused into its design. Never in the field of nationalistic fervour has so meek a national flag been designed for so many by so few.

A strong candidate for the dullest of national flags. The only thing that’s a little bothersome from the standpoint of dullness is the color. Green. And it’s not a dull green. It’s rather bright.
Green for a flag of a desert nation seems out of kilter. Wouldn’t tan or beige be better?
Maybe the designers of the flag lived in an oasis.
Or it’s an aspirational flag. They wish their country were green.
