Squirrel Appreciation Day is a day to enjoy watching the tree climbing and nut gathering squirrels in your neighborhood. By January, Squirrels run low on food squirreled away in the fall. Treat them to nuts leftover from the holidays.
Enjoy watching the squirrels find the nuts. It reminds us of kids at Easter Egg Hunts.
Squirrel Appreciation day was started by Christy Hargrove, a wildlife rehabilitator from Asheville, North Carolina, on January 21, 2001.
