The St Edmund Hall Centre for the Creative Brain invites you to “The Benefits of Boredom”.

  • Dr Sandi Mann from the University of Central Lancashire will explain why boredom is an important emotion, enabling our creative thinking.
  • Leland Carlson, founder of the Dull Men’s Club, will talk about the joy that comes from appreciating everyday things and some of the eccentricities of the club’s members.
  • Dr Helen Barron from the University of Oxford will discuss how memories are stored in the brain and what happens when memories are retrieved.

The event is free and open to all. Drinks will be served after the talks.
