What are you thankful for?

• Is it for turkey — the blandest of meats?

• Is it for the bleak weather that arrives in November?

• Is it that the color has gone from your trees and grass?

• Is it that leaves that cover your yard — and the joy you get when raking them?

• Is it that the snow will soon cover the ground — and the joy you’ll get when shoveling it?

* Is it that Uncle Jake and Aunt Mary come over for Thanksgiving Dinner . . . and talk . . . and talk . . . and talk . . . boring everyone?

• Is it that you are not a turkey?
