After Dull and Boring came to light, we’re hearing about more names: Staines (Surrey), Lost (Aberdeenshire), Hell (Michigan), Crapstone, (Devon), Thong (Kent), Looneyville (Texas), Intercourse (Pennsylvania),
Accident (Maryland), Embarrass (Minnesota), Pratt’s Bottom (Kent), North Piddle (Worcestershire), Titty Ho (Northamptonshire).
An advantage of having a strange name: the name attracts tourists. Tourists like having their pictures taking alongside signs with the towns’ names.
A disadvantage is tourists stealing the signs.
To stop losing its signs, Lost changed it’s name to Lost Farm.
