This day occurs the second Monday in January every year. At least that’s what show up on events calendar. We have not been able to find who started it and who sponsors it now.
One commentator aUS many of these unofficial “days” are started and promoted by vested interests. They are sometimes called “Hallmark Days.”
The commentator asks, “Who would start a day for cleaning off your desk? Lysol?”
But, when we look websites that mention this day, quite a few of them are from professional organizers — vested interests.
And there is more to do than wipe with Lysol:
• Dust everything
• Catch up on filing
• Create new file folders for 2014
• Fill staplers
• Check batteries
• Arrange paper clips by size
• Arrange pens and pencils by ink color and size of point
• Throw stuff out
