It’s a day to return to seriousness after April Fool’s Day. It’s when PB&J lovers take the making and enjoying their sandwiches seriously.

PB&J’s origins

The most likely story according to our research is that the sandwich was concocted by American soldiers fighting oversea in WWII. Peanut butter and jelly were in the Army rations. The soldiers simply combined the two. They won the war.

Origins of National PB&J Day

Although we don’t care since we enjoy eating the sandwiches, no one seems to know why and how the day came about. And which country has declared it a “National” day.

Greeting cards

(too risqué for DMC?)

There are over 1,200 of these “National Days,” sometimes referred to as “Hallmark Days.”
