May 13-22 — Lilac Festival — Rochester, New York
The largest lilac festival in North America. Over 500 varieties of lilacs on display.
It takes place in Rochester’s Highland Park, a park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted (designer of Central Park in Manhattan, Prospect Park in Brooklyn, Biltmore at Asheville, North Carolina, and much more).
Estimated attendance: 400,000.
