Essesntial Trivia: where was India Ink invented?

Dear DMC,

Did you know that India Ink was invented in China? That’s what Wikipedia says, click here.

So why is it called India Ink? Perhaps because England imported it from India. Although it is called India Ink in England and America, it’s not called India Ink everywhere. The French got it right. They call it China Ink.

What is India Ink called in India? Masi.
