Here is an interesting and thought-provoking article about queuing.  Among other things it explains what a serpentine queue is.
 
When I was at school, my teacher taught us to spell the word “queue” by repeating the letters Q U E U E out loud.  They have a sort of rhythm.  (Anyway, it worked for me.)
