A week ago in Spokane I looked out my hotel room window – looked up and down the street. Basketball was being played the entire length of the street. As well as on many more streets.
It was Spokane’s 24th annual Hoopfest. All the streets in 42 block area were turned into basketball courts, 454 of them.
It’s the world’s largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament.
This year 7,070 teeams entered, 27,896 players.
Players must be at least 3 years old to enter.
I headed out of the hotel and watched.
What I especially enjoyed was watching popcorn pop at the Kettle Korn stand. It’s one more activity we should add to the Safe Excitement page of this website:

Next year Leland let’s get you out to watch some hoops! The wheelchair teams are amazing and in the least entertaining in an odd sort of way! It might even rank in your book as exciting as watching the popcorn pop! However, it might eliminate you from the Dull Man’s club for the day!
