Worcestershire County Council installed a gate, replacing a low barrier that walkers stepped over, but a few days later removed it due to complaints it was too noisy.
The gate is on the footpath to Captains Pool in Spennells.
‘It’s becoming difficult to please walkers, an observer said. ‘Apparently they don’t like to step over things and don’t like noise. But why didn’t the council simply oil the gate’s hinges?’
